Summary

On June 15, we initiated an audit of the FAA's oversight of inactive Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant obligations. The objectives of this audit are to (1) assess the effectiveness of FAA's policies and procedures for identifying and de obligating unneeded AIP grant obligations and (2) determine the extent to which AIP grant obligations are no longer needed and should be de-obligated and put to better use on other projects or returned to the Aviation Trust Fund.
