A name change application submitted online is evaluated by an FMCSA agent for completeness, accuracy and compliance with regulations. Data on the company record will be changed after the evaluation is completed. This process takes around 14 business days. When a carrier submits a name change request online, they must also submit any required supporting documentation separately. Your best option is to submit your completed MCSA-5889 form via our web form or via fax to 202-366-3477. If you submit it via the web form, you will receive a tracking number by email, and we will be able to associate that document with your MC number for more efficient processing.
