The Maritime Administration Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift serves as the Chair of TG(OS), and the Office of Sealift Operations and Emergency Response provides the Secretariat. TG(OS) meets several times per year in both entirety and working group sessions. Meetings are held in two formats: (1) NATO only format (only the current 28 NATO members in attendance); and (2) Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) format (NATO member nations plus national representatives from the EAPC). EAPC Nations participate in the work of TG(OS), but are not involved in the decision making process. TG(OS) reports directly to Civil Emergency Planning Committee, and when necessary to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe .

Meetings are held in two formats: (1) NATO only format (only the current 28 NATO members in attendance); and (2) EAPC format (NATO member nations plus national representatives from the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council). EAPC Nations participate in the work of TG(OS), but are not involved in the decision making process. TG(OS) reports to directly to CEPC, and when necessary to SHAPE. The majority of the committee’s work is carried out by the TG(OS) Working Group, which is a permanent subordinate working group.
