AMS Policy Section 5.0 Acquisition workforce members in specified disciplines and specialty functions must be certified for the work they perform.
What Must be Done
Contracting officers/specialists, program/project managers, contracting officer representatives, delegators of procurement authority, integrated logistics support specialists, test and evaluators, systems engineers, and real estate contracting officers/specialists must acquire and maintain certification at the appropriate level for the work they perform.
Who Does It
The acquisition career manager ensures the acquisition workforce meets its certification requirements.
Supervisors ensure their employees have all required certifications.
Who Approves
The FAA Acquisition Executive approves all acquisition career certifications.
