This report estimates infrastructure costs of pedestrian and bicycle treatments from states and cities across the country, and the accompanying database will help inform decisions about which infrastructure enhancements are best suited for implementation.

State Long Range Transportation Database
The searchable database contains information from a review of long-range transportation plans from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The database presents information on how individual state plans address ten different transportation planning topics. The accompanying report provides analysis from the review and summarizes detailed findings on eight topics: 1) plan types, 2) implementation, 3) guiding principles, strategies, and objectives, 4) performance measures, 5) financial planning and analysis, 6) systems planning, 7) livability and sustainability, and 8) climate change.

Long Range Transportation Plan Public Database
The information in the state plan database is based on the Volpe team’s review of 51 state long-range transportation plans from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. An accompanying report (to be posted when available) provides analysis from the review and summarizes detailed findings. A nine-member project advisory group advised the research team on priority topics of interest for the review of statewide long-range transportation plans. The advisory group included representatives of the Transportation Research Board’s Statewide Multimodal Planning Committee, other State DOTs, and representatives of stakeholder organizations.

Transportation Planning Process Resource Guide
In the transportation decision-making process, public involvement is a key component of integrating land use and transportation issues. The Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTU)
The CUTC provides information for research, education and training opportunities. The Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) was established in 1979 by the major transportation research centers and institutes in the United States. CUTC is a Tennessee not-for-profit corporation and a recognized IRS 501C(3) organization. CUTC promotes continued dialogue among its member institutions, and it provides a forum for the centers to interact collectively with government and industry.
