The Inspector Training and Qualifications Division (TQ) tracks amendments to pipeline safety regulations, which are in Parts 190-199 and 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). This information is intended for training purposes only and is not meant to be relied upon as a substitute for the official CFR or any other source of applicable regulatory requirements. Pipeline Safety Laws

The Norman Y. Mineta Research and Special Programs Improvement Act authorized the formation of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. 

Four statutes provide the framework for the Federal pipeline safety program.
