This page contains a listing of civil penalty settlement amounts collected in Fiscal Years (FY) 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013. (Penalties for FY 2012 to 1999 can be found here). The Vehicle Safety Act provides for civil penalties for certain violations and authorizes NHTSA to enter into settlements on penalties. 49 USC 30165.
