Welcome to FTA and Region 5. We are proud of being part of FTA and providing excellent customer service to the central part of the country surrounding the Great Lakes. Organizationally, Region 5 consists of a Regional Office and a Metropolitan Office in Chicago, IL.
There are currently 33 FTA employees on staff in our region. In addition, there are two FHWA staff members (an engineer and a planner) assigned to the Chicago Metropolitan Office. They are co-located with FTA in our office. Our earnest desire is to provide prompt, courteous and quality customer service. Please feel free to contact us at any time. Historical Data (2015)
In FY 2015, Region 5 awarded 345 grants and obligated $1.335 billion in federal funds to over 140 grantees. All grants were obligated in an average of only 23 calendar days after our receipt of a complete and accurate grant application. We would like to thank all of our stakeholders throughout our region for helping us obligate this large amount of federal dollars. Our prompt level of service reflects our commitment to providing the best support to all of our grantees.
As we work through FY 2016, our commitment is to continue working closely with our customers to foster open and transparent communications, and provide clear guidance to ensure the success of critical projects throughout the six states we serve.”
