Nebraska Truck Driver Charged with Making Threats to FMCSA Safety Inspector

Summary

On March 11, 2015, Ronald Mockelman was charged in U.S. District Court, Lincoln, Nebraska with making a threat to a federal employee. An information was filed alleging that on January 10, 2015, Mockelman, a commercial truck driver, made several threatening telephone calls to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Nebraska Division offices. The telephone calls threatened bodily injury in retaliation for FMCSA issuing a fine to Mockelman for failing to adhere to motor carrier safety regulations. Mockelman also allegedly made several threatening telephone calls to the FMCSA Midwestern Service Center in Illinois on the same day.
