Summary

We plan to audit FAA’s Terminal Automation Modernization Program to determine if FAA’s terminal modernization strategy is reasonable and cost-effective. We will evaluate FAA’s cost and schedule projections for completing modernization, review costs incurred to date for STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System) and an interim measure known as Common ARTS (Automated Radar Terminal System), and analyze alternatives to meet terminal modernization needs.
