Audit Initiated of Policies, Procedures, and Practices for Locating Federal Offices and Facilities in Rural Areas

Summary

We initiated an audit of the Department’s policies, procedures, and practices for giving first priority to locating Federal offices and facilities in rural areas, as required by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2004. We will also follow up on previous OIG findings that the Operating Administrations did not always explicitly document their consideration of rural locations.
