Summary

The Office of Inspector General is initiating an audit of web applications security in air traffic control (ATC) systems in response to a request made by the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. The objectives of this audit are to determine whether: (1) web applications used in supporting ATC operations are properly secured to prevent unauthorized access to ATC systems, and (2) FAA’s network intrusion–detection capability is effective in monitoring ATC cyber security incidents.
