Summary

We initiated an audit of designated high-speed rail corridors in which we will assess their status by reviewing demand studies performed to date, expense projections, estimated capital requirements, and proposed implementation schedules. We will also evaluate any implications these projects have on Amtrak and options for restructuring passenger rail service.
