Summary

We issued our audit report on the FY 2004 and FY 2003 financial statements of the Federal Aviation Administration, in which we concurred with the unqualified or 'clean' opinion of KPMG LLP of Washington, DC. As required under the Chief Financial Officer's Act, the audit categorized financial management and accounting deficiencies as five reportable conditions and made 23 recommendations to correct these problems. The Federal Aviation Administration concurred with the reportable conditions and agreed with the recommendations.
