Description |
The President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) is a 30.5-mile circumferential toll roadway connecting various cities in the northern part of the Dallas Metroplex. Originally planned as an outer loop around the City of Dallas, the PGBT is an integral part of the metropolitan transportation system. The original facility was completed in 2006. The Eastern Extension is a 9.9-mile extension of the PGBT to the south and east connecting SH-78 in Garland to IH-30. The 6-lane Eastern Extension received environmental clearance in late 2005. Construction began in October of 2008 and opened to motorists on December 21, 2011. |
