The Western Regional HAZMAT Office is based in Ontario, California. This office is charged with overseeing the safe and secure movement of daily shipments of hazardous materials by all modes of transportation.
The Western Regional Pipeline Safety office is based in Lakewood, Colorado. This office is charged with ensuring the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of the nation's pipeline infrastructure.
The area of responsibility for this region is listed above; however, the jurisdiction of PHMSA staff is nationwide and not limited to their regional area of responsibility.

4/11/2013—SAFETY ADVISORY: There are instances in which cylinders have been taken to recycling facilities for disposal while still containing compressed gases and other hazardous materials. Get guidance on how to handle cylinders which have not been purged of their contents.
