Following a kickoff event in Atlanta on July 9, NHTSA’s Safe Cars Save Lives bus tour traveled across America’s southern States from August 9-13 to spread the word about vehicle safety and the Takata air bag recall. This bus tour raised public awareness of:
- Vehicle Recalls and how to search for them using NHTSA’s Recalls
Look-Up Tool; - Tire Maintenance and Safety, including checking for proper tire
pressure and wear; - Child Safety Seats and their proper installation and use; and
- Heatstroke when children are left in hot cars and how to
protect kids from it.
Along the bus tour, NHTSA was joined by one or more of its safety partners, including Safe Kids Worldwide, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, and AAA.
Thank you for supporting NHTSA’s mission of helping Americans drive and ride safely (National Statistics PDF 234 KB).
