Joint Mobility

Mobile Technology Work Group

The Mobile Technology Work Group (MTWG) was chartered under the Clinical Portfolio Management Board (CPMB) in July 2015 with the mission to define an optimal enterprise mobility way forward for the Military Health System (MHS) Enterprise with an emphasis on patient facing, joint and speed-to-market applications.

It is through the guidance of this group, comprised of representatives from all Service Components as well as multiple DHA Directorates, that enterprise mobility standards, policies, and procedures have been identified and recommended and will be implemented.

The MTWG’s goal is to deliver a joint solution that is standardized and centrally governed, but also locally empowered. The end-state will be the delivery of a solution that will allow the DHA to manage all devices, regardless of type, platform or ownership.

Mobile Application Development

The DHA acquired a Mobile Application Development Platform commercial off the shelf (COTS) product. This platform establishes a Standard Application Development Platform for creating mobile applications and creates standardization of branding, naming, and look/feel for patient and staff ease of discovery and use.  This platform will ultimately provide the basis for the development of a MHS-branded suite of patient-driven applications that will be standardized and available for download on Google, Google Play, and Apple App Stores.
