Defense Department experts developed a new suite of clinical products to enhance the quality and consistency of health care and support resources for patients who disclose sexual assault or sexual harassment. This resource will:
- Help Military Health System (MHS) providers implement the procedures set forth in DoD Instruction (DoDI) 6495.02, “Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program Procedures” effective July 7, 2015, in accordance with DoDI 6400.06, “Domestic Abuse Involving DoD Military and Certain Affiliated Personnel” effective July 9, 2015 and DoD Directive 1350.2, “DoD Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) Program” effective June 8, 2015
- Provide guidance on the health care management of patients in the MHS who disclose, have been accused of, or have committed sexual assault or sexual harassment
- Establish consistency in the quality of clinical care provided to patients in the MHS who disclose, have been accused of, or have committed sexual assault or sexual harassment
