NCTS FE DET Misawa Recognizes Japanese Master Labor Contractors for Superior Service
By Information Systems Technician 1st Class Nicholas M. Garcia - May 9, 2016
Navy commands in Misawa, Japan held an award ceremony April 22, 2016 to recognize the hard work and achievements made over the year by their Japanese Master Labor Contractors (MLCs).

Mr. Kenichi Numayama, an Information Systems Technician Specialist for Local Network Support Center (LNSC) Misawa of Naval Computer Telecommunications Station Far East Detachment (NCTS FE DET), was awarded the Certificate of Sustained Superior Performance (SSP) during the ceremony.

“Our Japanese employees provide a continuity of experience here in Misawa. Our active duty members come and learn the job during the two or three years that they are here and then move on, but our Japanese contractors stay and keep providing their many years of knowledge and expertise that keep us operational,” said Cmdr. Dennis Malzacher, Naval Air Facility Misawa’s executive officer.

Mr. Numayama is also the NIPR System Administrator, managing desktop support and equipment repair management on ONE-NET resources. As an information technician, he maintains certifications in Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2000 and 2003, as well as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2008.

Before working for NCTS, he worked for Naval Air Facility supporting ONE-NET with transfer of functions. When asked what he did to earn the award, Mr. Numayama said “Nothing, I did work normally.” Humble, kind and virtuous, Mr. Numayama continues to work hard and do great things for Misawa Air Base. We at NCTS FE DET Misawa are grateful to have such support!
