Hardin Memorial Hospital is a regional healthcare center located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Since opening in 1954, Hardin Memorial Hospital has grown to 300 beds and provides care to citizens in Hardin and 10 surrounding counties.

Hardin Memorial Hospital is a not-for-profit, acute care hospital owned by the citizens of Hardin County, governed by the Board of Trustees of the Fiscal Court of Hardin County and managed by Baptist Healthcare Systems. At present, Hardin Memorial Hospital has a medical staff of over 140 active physicians, including 32 specialties and subspecialties as well as primary care. Hardin Memorial Hospital is the third largest employer in Hardin County.

The LaRue County Public Health Center offers a wide variety of services to all residents, regardless of age, income, race, religion or national origin including:
  • Well child, EPSDT, preschool, kindergarten and 6th grade physicals
  • Family planning services (*Sliding fee charges based on family income)
  • WIC (Women, infant, children program)
  • Immunizations including DTaP, Polio, MMR, Hepatitis B, HIB, Varicella HepA, Rotovirus, Prevnar and Flu
  • Tuberculosis testing and treatment
  • Intensive nutritional counseling by registered dietitian
  • Diabetic screenings and education
  • Cancer program screening including pap smear, breast exams and referral for mammogram if age appropriate and income eligible (*Sliding fee charges based on family income)
  • Chronic disease testing and education
  • Sexually transmitted diseases testing and treatment, HIV testing

*Family planning and Cancer Screening charges are based on ability to pay. Depending on family size and income, a reduced fee may apply. WIC services are free (income based). For other services there are nominal fees. For more services, Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance can be billed. Patients are required to pay for services at the time of their visit if insurance is not billable. Proof of income is required for eligibility for services; otherwise, the full fee will be charged.
