Postgraduate Dental College

Postgraduate Dental College

The Postgraduate Dental College (PDC) of the Uniformed Services University was established in May 2010 after receiving approval from the USU Board of Regents. The University grants a Master of Science in Oral Biology degree after the completion of an affiliated graduate dental residency program.  As of August of 2016, ten Advanced Education in General Dentistry, one-year certificate programs sponsored by the Air Force became affiliated with the PDC.  All students matriculated into the program have obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery or a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.  Admission is open to active duty officers or Health Professions Scholarship Program recipients who have been selected for residency training in University affiliated programs by their respective Service. The college is comprised of educational sites at one of the three Service dental schools.

Postgraduate Dental Schools-

The Army, Navy, and Air Force Postgraduate Dental Schools form USU's Postgraduate Dental College.  Under the leadership of the deans, department chairs, and program directors, instruction in Master of Science in Oral Biology degree granting residencies is provided at seven locations, in 19 programs, comprising seven different disciplines of dentistry.  While each location is unique, they all combine education, research, and dynamic residency opportunities to cultivate excellent clinicians ready to serve a mobile force-at home and abroad, in war and peace.  The Air Force Postgraduate Dental School also includes ten Advanced Education in General Dentistry, 1-year certificate programs.
