Maritime forces from East Africa, South Africa, Europe, Indian Ocean nations, the United States and several international organizations began the fourth iteration of the multinational maritime Exercise Cutlass Express, Jan. 28, 2015.

United States Africa Command donated over $50,000 in educational materials to support the South African Government’s effort to improve education opportunities for children.

SIMON’S TOWN, South Africa – Maritime professionals from South and East Africa, Europe, Indian Ocean nations and the U.S. met to begin finalizing plans for the fourth iteration of Cutlass Express 2015, Nov. 18. The four-day planning event seeks to finalize exercise scenarios, participant force offerings, schedule of events, and participant manning in advance of the exercise, to be held in early 2015.

Their eyes lit up in excitement as the rest of the Airmen entered the room. It was the first time they had ever seen U.S. military members poised at the ready; except these Airmen weren't equipped with weapons, they were armed with music. The U.S. Air Forces in Europe jazz band, Wings of Dixie, gave nearly 150 music students a treat that would have them out of their seats, cheering and dancing during a free concert and musical workshop here Sept 18, 2014.

WATERKLOOF AIR FORCE BASE, South Africa -- Hundreds of thousands people from all over the world gathered in line to see a C-130J Super Hercules from Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on display at the Africa Aerospace & Defence Expo here Sept. 20-21.
