Welcome to Columbus

  Welcome to Columbus Air Force Base, home of the 14th Flying Training Wing, Air Education and Training Command. We’re happy you’re here. As you become familiar with the base, you’ll sense our excitement about our role in training Air Force pilots and keeping the Air Force ready to deploy

Checking In

  Welcome! You are about to join about 1,500 active-duty and 1,700 civilian workers who make up the Columbus Air Force Base team. Our check-in process is designed for efficiency and convenience and to ensure your introduction to the base provides you with everything you need to know.

Settling In

  Getting settled and getting around — two things any newcomer is eager to do! It’s easy at Columbus, and there are plenty of people to ensure you’re well taken care of.

Serving the Family

  Columbus Air Force Base has a full-time school liaison office (SLO) to provide K-12 education information to all personnel assigned to the installation. Contact the SLO at 662-434-2792 or via email at slo@columbus.af.mil with any of your questions. Children of families living on base have a choice to attend

Recreation

  Columbus offers a wide variety of recreational activities. The base can accommodate almost any interest with professional instruction and top-notch facilities and equipment. Combine this with an unlimited number of local points of interest, attractions and outdoor fun just a short drive away, and you’ve got everything it takes

Mission

  The mission of the 14th Flying Training Wing is to produce pilots, advance airmen and feed the fight. The wing accomplishes this via specialized undergraduate pilot training in T-6A, T-38C and T-1A trainer aircraft. Each day the wing flies an average of 300 sorties using three parallel runways. The
