You are preparing to migrate Outlook profiles and wants to migrate your Outlook entries.  Most commonly this will be Contacts and Calendar entries but you can also migrate your Tasks and Notes.

Migrate Outlook Entries

Migrating Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes

You are preparing to migrate Outlook profiles and wants to migrate your Outlook entries.  Most commonly this will be Contacts and Calendar entries but you can also migrate your Tasks and Notes.

Archive

To archive your  Outlook components first attach or create a .pst archive. This will be where your Outlook entries will be archived to.

Contacts

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click 'People' at the bottom of Outlook
  3. Under the heading 'My Contacts' on the left, identify the Contacts group to archive
  4. Default Contacts Group Name is: Contacts
  5. Right click on the Contacts group and select "Copy <Contacts>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Archive Folder.
  7. Click OK

Calendar

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Calendar
  3. Under the heading 'My Calendar' on the left, identify the Calendar to archive
  4. Default Calendar Name is: Calendar
  5. Right click on the Calendar and select "Copy <Calendar>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Archive Folder.
  7. Click OK

Tasks

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Tasks
  3. Under the heading 'My Tasks' on the left, identify the Tasks group to archive
  4. Default Tasks Group Name is: Tasks
  5. Right click on the Tasks group and select "Copy <Tasks>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Archive Folder.
  7. Click OK

Notes

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Notes
  3. Under the heading 'My Notes' on the left, identify the Notes group to archive
  4. Default Notes Group Name is: Notes
  5. Right click on the Notes group and select "Copy <Notes>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Archive Folder.
  7. Click OK

Restore

To restore your Outlook components first attach .pst archive file that contains your backed up Outlook entries.

Contacts

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Contacts
  3. Under the heading 'My Contacts' on the left, identify the Contacts group to restore
  4. The archived Contact Group name will be "<Contacts> in Archive"
  5. Right click on the Contacts group and select "Copy <Contacts>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Mailbox Heading.
  7. Click OK

Calendar

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Contacts
  3. Under the heading 'My Contacts' on the left, identify the Contacts group to restore
  4. The archived Contact Group name will be "<Contacts> in Archive"
  5. Right click on the Contacts group and select "Copy <Contacts>..."
  6. A Copy Folder window will appear. Select the Mailbox Heading.
  7. Click OK

Tasks

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on the button: Contacts
