U.S. Marine MV-22B Ospreys from Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa departed Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Romania, with a platoon of Marines from the Black Sea Rotational Force to support a multilateral training exercise during Platinum Eagle 15, May 26, 2015. The Ospreys left Morón Air Base, Spain, earlier in the week, and arrived to work with their allies from the Bulgarian and Romanian armed forces. The Ospreys delivered the Marines to the Babadag Training Area, where they demonstrated their ability to conduct security operations. The training represents the first time Ospreys have conducted multilateral training in Romania, where members of BSRF have established a growing relationship with partner Romanian forces. Latvian Lt. Col. Normunds Baranovs (standing, left) explains to secondary school students at a school in the rural area of Galbenes, Latvia, the U.S.-Latvian relationship for Operation Atlantic Resolve during a community outreach November 12, 2014. During the outreach, the soldiers got to interact with the high-school age students and answer and ask questions to get to know each other. Students were also able to try on U.S. soldier equipment and pose for photographs with the service members. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
