TRICARE covers an annual low-dose computed tomography screening for beneficiaries who meet the following criteria:
- 55-80 years old
- 30 pack per year history of smoking who are currently smoking or have quit within the past 15 years.
Screening should end when a beneficiary:
- hasn’t smoked for 15 years
- develops a health problem significantly limiting life expectancy or ability to undergo curative lung surgery.
