Military Hospitals and Clinics
Military hospitals and clinics are the core of the Military Health System. They are found at military bases around the world.
Priorities for Care
The following beneficiaries have the priority for making appointments and military hospitals and clinics:
- Active duty service members
- Beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime
- Beneficiaries enrolled in the TRICARE Young Adult-Prime Option
All others may receive care on a space-available basis only.
If enrolled in TRICARE Prime and referred by your primary care manager (PCM) for specialty care, you may be referred to a military hospital or clinic even if you have a civilian PCM.
Overseas Patient Liaison Services
Most military hospitals and clinics overseas are staffed with patient liaisons that can help you navigate the overseas health care system with ease. Patient liaisons speak fluent English, as well as the overseas language and are skilled at handling overseas medical system procedures.
