Mission Statement
To prevent, reduce and stop the spread of communicable diseases of public health and military significance for all military personnel and their family members, civilian employees and visitors assigned to, working on, or visiting Fort Lee through education and training, inspections and aggressive monitoring of communicable diseases on Fort Lee and its surrounding communities.
Vision Statement
Prevent communicable diseases outbreaks from occurring on Fort Lee, Fort A.P. Hill and Fort Pickett.
Public Health Services and Support Areas
Communicable Disease (Fort Lee, Fort A.P. Hill and Fort Pickett):
Maintain knowledge of current disease prevention and control policies, procedures, and techniques.
Conduct continuous medical surveillance for diseases and conditions of public health and/or military significance
Recommend preventive protection and environmental control measures to unit commanders based on the health threat assessment that will help prevent or reduce disease(s) from occurring.
Conduct epidemiological investigations and contact tracing as appropriate for suspected or confirmed communicable disease outbreaks or disease occurrences capable of reducing military effectiveness or readiness or that may spread to the outlying community.
Report unusual occurrences of diseases or environmental health problems to appropriate commanders and advise on methods for prevention and control so corrective action can be taken immediately.
Submit communicable disease reports as required by local, state, federal and military laws and regulations.

Reporting animal bites and cases of Human Rabies to appropriate authorities
Child Youth Schools & Services (Fort Lee, Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia and National Ground Intelligence Center, Charlottesville, Virginia):
Health consultant for Child Youth Schools & Services
Conducts CYSS center health and wellness inspections
Representation on Exceptional Family Member Program Committee.
Participates in the Special Needs Accommodation Process
Education and Training Classes (Fort Lee, Fort A.P. Hill, Richmond Defense Supply Center, National Guard Intelligence Center, Charlottesville):
Provide CYSS staff training
Provide communicable disease education and training (disease specific as requested)
Participate in community health fairs
