Mission: Continuously apply
safe, efficient patient care, using a multidisciplinary team approach during
the hospitalized period resulting in desired quality patient outcomes in
accordance with current professional standards as well as policies and
procedures directed by the command.
Scope of Practice: The
medical-surgical unit is a multi-service unit with a capacity of 20
inpatients beds. Nursing care is provided to all patients admitted or in an
ambulatory procedure visit (APV) or observatory status from the various
medical specialties practiced in the facility. Services include, but are not
limited to, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, ENT,
Psychiatry, and Gynecology. The average occupancy rate is 6 inpatients per
day. The average acuity category is CAT III. Age groups served are newborn
through geriatrics.
