The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host the 9th Annual “Safety on the Blue” celebration to promote water safety at Bluestone Lake Aug. 4, 2013, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Bluestone Bridge Parking Lot (Pit Area) near the launch ramp.
The free event combines family fun with safety tips and will include free boat rides, games, live music by the band Bad Magic Numbers, life jacket giveaways and hands-on water safety demonstrations. Also, for the kids, popular characters such as Bobber the Water Safety Dog and Corey the Water Safety Boat will be on hand.
“Safety on the Blue” is presented by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the “Safety on the Blue” Committee, the West Virginia Water Festival, Bluestone State Park and the National Park Service.
