Yatesville Lake to Host National Public Lands Day Event on Sept. 29

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting an event to honor National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Yatesville Lake beginning 9 a.m. and lasting until 3p.m.

The public is encouraged to participate. Volunteers will meet at the Corps of Engineers at Yatesville Lake located off of Kentucky Highway 1185.

During this year’s event, volunteers will focus their attention on the Yatesville Lake Nature Trail by repairing park benches, installing tree identification markers, and installing trash receptacles. These efforts are intended to enhance the recreational value and experience of Yatesville Lake’s visitors.

A lunch donated by local sponsors will be provided to all volunteers. All tools, equipment, and materials necessary for completing the work will be provided.
