Provide, operate, maintain and repair Army real property and leased facilities, energy and utilities, and provide facilities services in support of US Southern Command and supporting organizations located in South Florida; provide leased housing and housing services, and limited master planning, space management, and military construction support.

• General. The USAG Miami Directorate of Public Works (DPW) provides most Public Works services through a combination of service contract and leasing instruments, and reimbursable services from the US Army Corps of Engineers and US Air Force Reserve Command at Homestead Air Reserve Base.
  
  
• Army Real/Leased Property Operation & Maintenance. DPW operates and maintains all Army owned and leased Real Property (land, facilities, utilities and other permanent infrastructure) by providing scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled maintenance and repair services, and responding to Tenant identified issues submitted as service orders. Most services are provided through a limited Facilities O&M contract for Miami infrastructure and reimbursable support from the AFRC for Homestead infrastructure.
  
  
• Facilities Support Services. DPW provides contracted custodial, grounds maintenance, refuse collection, pest management and related services through a combination of service contracts and reimbursable services. These services are provided within US Army Installation Management Command Common Levels of Support (CLS) and directed Capability Levels (service levels) within ever increasing resource constraints. Tenant requested services that exceed these directed service levels can be provided if the Tenant funds them and providing them is within existing DPW manpower and capacities.
  
  
• Utilities & Energy Services. DPW maintains operates and maintains installation utilities infrastructure through a combination of DPW staff effort and contracted services, as well as purchase of energy commodities from public and private utilities ( power, natural gas, water and sewer ) through a combination utility contracts, direct billed accounts, and AFRC reimbursement.
  
  
• Leased Housing and Housing Services. DPW Housing Branch manages a limited inventory of Government Leased housing leased by USACE under 10 USC 2828 authorities. These programs include housing for designated USSOUTHCOM key and essential personnel, housing for accompanied military personnel and their families, and housing for unaccompanied junior enlisted personnel as required by service regulations. Housing Services will also assist military service members and families in locating and renting appropriate housing on the local economy through a variety of assistance and referral programs.
  
  
• Master Planning & Space Management. DPW has a limited capacity provide basic master planning and space management support; additional master planning and space management are provided through a combination of support from other Army installations and USACE reimbursable and contracted support.
  
  
• Military Construction. DPW has a limited capacity to plan, program, contract and supervise minor facility alterations and improvements; larger and more complex minor or major military construction (MILCON) needs require reimbursable programming, design, engineering and construction contracting support from the US Army Corps if Engineers. With the exception of major life-cycle facility Revitalization and Modernization projects, most alterations and additions or improvements are the responsibility of the Tenant organization to program and fund, with assistance from the DPW.
