Bloggers

Military OneSource has gathered some of the most talented and thought provoking writers in the blogosphere to provide you and our military families a glance into the lives of individuals just like you.

Kristi

Kristi

Kristi plans her plans, so it’s no surprise that the uncertainty of military life tests her patience. She’s not really a new military spouse or new parent anymore, but she’s no expert either. She’s stubborn and works hard, but in spite of that, tries not to take herself too seriously. If she could just remember to stop and smell the roses and hold her breath for dirty diapers and ripe flight suits, she’d be in good shape. Two installations (and counting), two kids (and holding), two deployments (and counting, probably) and she’s not slowing down anytime soon!

Melissa

Melissa is an outgoing, caring, “naturally caffeinated” Southern girl at heart who loves volunteering and making new friends. So when her high school sweetheart decided that he wanted to join the military, she was ready for the adventure! After a few PCS moves and deployments, Melissa thought she had the military lifestyle down to a science. That was until her husband announced “We have orders to move overseas.” After the “fear of the unknown” dissipated, the excitement set in as she realized that they were about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Dani

Dani

Dani is a new military spouse who met her other half less than a year after she graduated from college and he graduated from boot camp. After three years of long-distance love and two demanding deployments, they were married last year and are learning the trials and tribulations of life as military newlyweds. Before starting a family, Dani and her husband are focusing on their careers, goals, and relationship—though she has a serious case of baby fever! For now though, it’s just the two of them, their smartphone addictions, and their Westie puppy, Lady. Welcome to the ride!

Kelli

Kelli is living the dream of the twilight tour. She still has four of six children living at home, a grandson who lives several states away, and her beloved Labradors, Scratch and Luke. With family scattered around the world, the military has been her family for a long time.

Julie

Julie

Julie is a devout believer in ordering two desserts and is, most likely, allergic to running. As a Navy spouse, she learned that the bouquet of stale, steely air, diesel fuel and dirty socks (the ship’s scent at homecoming), meant her deployment-induced job as single parent and chief bottle washer would transition into the shared family experience again. Since retiring from the military, Julie and her husband completed their bachelor’s degrees and started second careers. These days you will likely find her covered in sunscreen with a thin layer of diamond dust (of the softball or baseball variety), cheering on her kids’ teams.

  1. Hi Kelli,

We would love to share with you an article that we just posted on our own blog! “7 Ways to Hurricane-Proof Your Home” is linked below and could be a fun way to share this announcement with your readers.

  2. I’m new to this area and my husband has left for basic training for a while and then he’s off to AIT. I miss him like crazy and I haven’t been able to find much to do to occupy my time. Is there anyone in the Madison, Alabama area? I would really appreciate making new friends and finding something to do with my time. I have way to much of it
