Unified Facilities Criteria

Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) documents provide planning, design, construction, sustainment, restoration, and modernization criteria, and apply to the Military Departments, the Defense Agencies, and the DOD Field Activities in accordance with USD (AT&L) Memorandum dated 29 May 2002. UFC are distributed only in electronic media and are effective upon issuance.

Headquarters, United States Army Corps of Engineers (HQ-USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency (AFCESA) are responsible for administration of the UFC system. Points of contact and procedures for the development and maintenance of UFC documents are prescribed in the latest edition of MIL-STD-3007f.

This document UFC 1-200-02, provides minimum requirements and guidance to achieve high performance and sustainable facilities that comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, EO 13423, EO 13514, and the Guiding Principles for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings (Guiding Principles).
