What is the iWATCH Program

iWatch

The Department of the Army’s Office of the Provost Marshal General, in conjunction with the Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7, approved a new Army anti-terrorism awareness program. The purpose of the program is to focus and encourage Army-wide community awareness and out-reach efforts to address important topics related to protecting our communities from terrorist acts.

The program includes materials and resources focused specifically on “Family Awareness.” Products to support family awareness include posters and pocket cards depicting indicators of potential terrorist activity as well as information on how to report suspicious activity.

Program materials available include informational papers for use by family readiness groups and military family members to reinforce personal safety, security, and prevention of terrorist acts.

Training and education resources include briefings on individual awareness, as well as videos and public service announcements highlighting antiterrorism awareness and security.

Cyber Security Awareness Month

Cyber Security and OPSEC Terrorists select targets that offer the most opportunity for success. Information passed unknowingly by military personnel, and increasingly via cyberspace, is being used by terrorists in their planning efforts. OPSEC denies terrorists information about potential targets and reduces the availability of this information.

Antiterrorism, iWATCH and OPSEC Training
Antiterrorism Training: Antiterrorism Level 1 Training application is available on line and can be reached via the following site: https://jkodirect.jten.mil. CAC enabled users will need to search and enroll in Course #JS-US007 to receive the training. The Joint Knowledge Online website now has a non-CAC training opportunity as well.
iWATCH Training for Contractors: This training can be used for the contracting companies to provide to their contractors or may be available at Army installation and provided by iWATCH Army program POC's. The threat of terrorist activity is persistent and enduring. The Army needs everyone’s help (including contractors) in protecting against the threat of terrorism. By understanding what iWATCH Army is, and having a base of knowing of the possible indicators of suspicious activity or behavior, every person can serve as an extra set of “eyes and ears” for law enforcement and security. iWATCH Training for Family Members: The objective of this training is to inform family members of the types of suspicious activity or behavior potentially associated with terrorist activities, explain what to watch for (indicators), and how to report suspicious activity or behavior to the military police, or local law enforcement for investigation. Operational Security Training: Military leaders at all levels are responsible of training Soldiers and Family members about OPSEC. Family members as well as Soldiers need to know what information needs to be protected and the methods the enemy can use to get that information.
