Visit the Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities on your installation to see what's happening:
- Fitness center — A great place to help you burn off some steam as well as some calories. Most feature circuit training, free weights and a wide variety of group fitness classes.
- Swimming pool — Beat the heat with some recreational swimming, training laps or aquatic fitness classes.
- Movie theater — If your installation has one, you can enjoy recently released blockbusters at a fraction of the off-base cost.
- Recreation center — Your electronic stimulation and entertainment headquarters. Here you'll find computers, video games, TV, movies, table games and plenty of space to chill.
- Gymnasium — Find a pick-up game, or participate in a league. You'll find all of the traditional sports programs on your installations and sometimes some not-so-traditional ones, too.
- Golf course — If you already play, get out there. If you're new to the sport, sign up for a lesson. Military golf courses are some of the best around for the price.
- Bowling center — You know you like to knock things down. Stop in and throw a few lines, or join a league.
- Library — Feed your mind with a good book. Even if your installation doesn't have a physical library, you can access your service's virtual library for ebooks to download to your smartphone or tablet.
- Craft and hobby shops — Many installations have auto skills centers where you can rent stall space and work on your car. Some have other craft and hobby programs that may be stand-alone facilities or offerings at recreation centers or libraries. Look for woodworking, ceramics, painting classes and more.
- Information, Tickets and Travel — They've got your ticket to all of the local sights, attractions and amusements...at a discount. Some even offer trips, so you don't have to drive yourself. They can even help you plan a destination vacation or a cruise.
- Outdoor recreation — If you're a nature explorer, stop by for your gear rental needs and find out what outings are planned.
- Single service member programs — Whether it's the Army BOSS Program, Single Marine Program, Navy Liberty or the Single Airmen Initiative, there's always something going on for single, junior enlisted members. Some installations offer exclusive recreation centers, and most offer events, activities and trips.
