Desert Storm Memorial
The Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) took place between 2 Aug 1990 and 28 Feb 1991. The main conflict, known as Desert Storm spanned from 17 Jan 1991 until 28 Feb 1991 and involved 34 nations. Among the United States forces were 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division from Germany (attached to 1st Armored Division) and the 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized) from Fort Stewart. The United States lost 294 soldiers in the conflict between Aug 1990 and Mar 1991, including 1 from 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division and 16 from the 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized). It is here that we honor the memories of our fallen brethren from the Marne Division, and from Team Stewart, as they were at that time.
