G4 - Logistics
The G-4 assesses the logistics feasibility of each COA. This officer determines critical requirements for each logistics function (classes I through VII and IX) and identifies potential problems and deficiencies. The G-4 assesses the status of all logistics functions required to support the COA, including potential support required to provide essential services to the civilians, and compares it to available assets. This officer identifies potential shortfalls and recommends actions to eliminate or reduce their effects. While improvising can contribute to responsiveness, only accurately predicting requirements for each logistics function can ensure continuous sustainment. The logistics officer ensures that available movement times and assets support each COA.
