Driving Directions

To and From the Base Pass & ID Office

From Waikiki or Airport to the Pearl Harbor Naval Base Pass & ID Office.

Get on the H-1 freeway going west. Be sure to take the H-1 cutoff that states you are heading toward the airport. Continue past the airport cutoff and take exit 15B (Airport/Hickam/Pearl Harbor). The right lanes to Pearl Harbor will take you to the Nimitz Gate. Stay in the far right "visitor" lane, which will take you to a right turn immediately outside the main gate. Take this right turn to enter the parking lot of Bldg. 3455, the Base Pass & ID Office.

From the Naval Base Pass & ID Office to NAVFAC Pacific.

From the parking lot of 3455, turn right onto Center Drive. (Don't go through the main gate, which is to your left.) Follow Center Drive to the Kamehameha Hwy traffic light. At the traffic light, turn left onto Kamehameha Hwy. Continue on Kamehameha Hwy. until you get to the 2nd stop light. Turn right (just before the light) onto Halawa Drive. (You'll see a large COMPACFLT entrance sign on the right.) Proceed to the guard gate. From the guard gate, proceed up the road until you get to a stop sign, where you'll either have to turn left or right. (Navy housing is straight ahead.) Turn left. Continue to the next stop sign and then turn left again. Proceed approximately 100 ft. and take the right fork onto Luapele Rd. Continue down the road past the BOQ and NEX Mini-Mart on the right.

Drive past the parking lots on the left and continue until you get to the first street you can turn on (which, in this case, will be a left turn only immediately before the back gate). On the corner of the street you need to turn left at, you'll see the Naval Maritime Forecast Center and the large white satellite dish that says Naval Maritime Forecast Center - Joint Typhoon Warning Center. After turning left, continue a short distance until you come to the Yield sign. (You should see a small NAVFAC Pacific sign in front of you.) Parking areas are straight ahead and to the left. PAC HQ is building 258, adjacent to the large flag pole and Fighting Seabee mascot. Please use the telephone located near the entrance to the building to call your point of contact to sponsor you in.

Base Access

NAVFAC Pacific is located inside the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet compound on Makalapa. Vehicles entering the compound must have:

1) Current vehicle registration, no-fault insurance card and safety check. Or, if you are in a rental car, you need to show the gate guard a vaid rental agreement.

2) Drivers must show your DOD Common Access Card.

If you do not have a CAC, you need to obtain a sponsor who has one, and acquire a base pass from the Pass & ID office (Bldg 3455), located at the entry to Nimitz Gate.

The Pass & ID office is open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The one-day pass window is open at 6:30 a.m. The office issues one-trip visitor passes and temporary passes for visits of three days or more. You will need to present a valid driver's license and car rental agreement. If you are not driving a rental car, you must show current vehicle registration, no-fault insurance card and safety check. You should have a letter from NAVFAC Pacific stating the purpose of your visit or have prior arrangements made with NAVFAC Pacific so the Pass & ID office has your name on file.
