Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast currently employs 1703 civilians, 132 military and 48 contractors in twelve states from Charleston, S.C. to Kingsville, Texas and south to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The volume of business for fiscal year 2015 is projected at $1.9 billion with an annual payroll of $129 million. The headquarters, in Jacksonville, Fla., supports activities in over 19 field offices within their area of responsibility. NAVFAC Southeast plans, designs and manages construction for the Navy and other governmental agencies. NAVFAC Southeast professionals also acquire and dispose of real estate, provide environmental support, manage and maintain the facilities on all naval bases and provide housing for military families. NAVFAC Southeast Public Works Departments provide facilities support services to each Naval installation in their area of responsibility. Every day presents new and different challenges for the professionals of the Command. From planning a new full-service hospital to the construction of a state-of-the-art hangar facility, members of the Command make significant contributions to the Navy.
