FIREARM REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR CIVILIAN AND NON-ACTIVE DUTY PERSONNEL

IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARMY REGULATION 190-11, RAPID ACTION REVISION 28 JUNE 2011 AND FORT STEWART IMSH ES REGULATION 190-11, ALL PRIVATELY OWNED FIREARMS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE PROVOST MARSHAL/DIRECTORATE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES PRIOR TO BEING BROUGHT ONTO THE INSTALLATION FOR AUTHORIZED ACTIVITIES

OWNERS: Owners will complete an AFZP Form 2027 (Registration of Personal Firearms form) for the firearms. NOTE: Only the owner of the firearm(s) is authorized to register their firearm(s)

REGISTRATION FORMS: A link to AFZP Form 2027 is displayed at the bottom of this information. It is very important that you read all of the following information before filling out the form. The form may be completed on line and printed out or blank forms may be picked up at the listed locations:

  • Vehicle Registration Branch (VRB) – Bldg 226 on Fort Stewart (FS) and Bldg 1286 on Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF)
  • Pass and Permit Offices - Bldg 8093 on FS and Bldg 8454 on HAAF

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: The COPS registration form will be issued to the owner of the firearm(s) as proof of registration When registration forms are brought into or filled out at the VRB offices, VRB personnel will verify the identity of the individual registering the firearm(s) and process the AFZP Form 2027 in the Central Operations Police Suite (COPS)

REGISTRATION USAGE: A copy of the COPS registration form will be retained with the firearm at all times when on the installation for authorized activities and shown to Law Enforcement personnel upon request and to Pass and Permit personnel when applying for permits



FIREARM REGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR ACTIVE DUTY PERSONNEL

IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARMY REGULATION (AR) 190-11, RAPID ACTION REVISION 28 JUNE 2011 AND FORT STEWART IMSH ES REGULATION 190-11, ALL PRIVATELY OWNED FIREARMS OWNED BY ACTIVE DUTY PERSONNEL RESIDING ON THE INSTALLATION OR BEING BROUGHT ONTO THE INSTALLATION FOR AUTHORIZED ACTIVITIES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE PROVOST MARSHAL/DIRECTORATE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES

OWNERS: Have the following.

  • AFZP Form 2027 (Registration of Personal Firearms form)
  • Assumption of Command Orders for your Company Commander

NOTE: Only the owner of the firearm(s) is authorized to register their firearm(s) – Family Member Spouses may register the firearm for the Soldier with a Power of Attorney.

REGISTRATION FORMS: AFZP Form 2027 located on the Fort Stewart Web Site (www.stewart.army.mil) may be completed and printed out or blank forms may be picked up at the listed locations:

  • Vehicle Registration Branch (VRB) – Bldg 226 on Fort Stewart (FS) and Bldg 1286 on Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF)
  • Pass and Permit Offices - Bldg 8093 on FS and Bldg 8454 on HAAF

NOTE: ALL AFZP FORM 2027 REGISTRATION FORMS FOR THE SOLDIER AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS MUST BE SIGNED BY THEIR COMMANDER REGARDLESS OF RANK IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) AR 190-11, PARAGRAPHS 1-14 AND 4-5 AND IMSH ES REG 190-11, PARAGRAPHS 1-5 AND 6-1.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: AFZP Form 2027 will be processed in the Central Operations Police Suite (COPS) by VRB personnel and the COPS registration form will be provided to the owner of the firearm(s)

REGISTRATION USAGE: If firearm(s) are stored in an arms room, a copy of the COPS registration form will be maintained with the firearm and a copy retained by the owner NOTE: DO NOT BRING FIREARMS INTO THE VRB OFFICES! A copy of the COPS registration will be retained with the firearm at all times when brought on the installation for authorized activities and will be shown to Law Enforcement personnel upon request and to Pass and Permit personnel when applying for a permit
