Introduction

Welcome to the Rehabilitation Section of the ASAP. Rehabilitation is an integral part of the ASAP. The Rehabilitation Program consists of an intensive outpatient program employing outcome centered brief intervention therapy to those who are experiencing chemical abuse or dependency.

Mission

"To Care For The Rock Of The Marne." The mission of ASAP is to provide on an outpatient basis, evaluation, intervention, education, counseling, case management, and referral services. to also restore military and civilian alcohol/drug abusers to effective duty performance as early as possible, and to prevent further occurrences of alcohol/drug related problems.

The ASAP will continuously strive to improve the quality of services provided to our patients, their families and the overall community at large. The staff of ASAP will make every effort to enhance the quality of life and wellness for all.

Where we are

The ASAP located at Bldg 201A, at 808 Worcester Avenue off of East 6th street, directly behind the Ambulance Section and Bldg 201 (ASAP Prevention) . Eligibility

Care is provided for all eligible adults in the following category: Fort Stewart/Hunter Active Duty Military, Active Duty National Guards/Reserves. Active Duty Family Members, Retirees and their Family Members and Department of Defense Civilian Employees are screened and referred out to available network resources.

Programs and Services

The ASAP provides outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation services for all eligible personnel listed above as directed by AR 600-85 and AR 40-68. ASAP Counseling Center provides evaluation, treatment, referral, individual and group counseling, command consultation and discharge planning for individuals identified with suspected substance abuse problems. Treatment is provided regardless of how the individual is identified for referral (self-referral, commander referral, police blotter, urine testing, medical referral, court referral, etc.). The program supports TRICARE, medical and mental health treatment providers, as well as other public and private agencies by accepting referrals for consultation, evaluation, and treatment.

ASAP Counseling Center also provides consultation to other medical services by providing on Ward and in-hospital screening as well as follow-up evaluations after discharge. The ASAP evaluates individuals for detoxification and/or residential treatment and refers them appropriately to Winn Army Community Hospital, Eisenhower Substance Addiction Program, or civilian treatment centers. Typically detoxification is accomplished at Winn Army Community Hospital and residential treatment at the Eisenhower Substance Addiction Program.

Credentials

Clinical staff are all certified as substance abuse counselors by a state or national body. Staff that provide independent care are required to be credentialed by Winn Army Community Hospital and have a state license.

Services Beyond Capability

Referrals for inpatient treatment are arranged when appropriate. Patients with needs beyond counselors’ privileges are referred to other counseling resources usually within Winn Army Community Hospital, or other Fort Stewart agencies. Consultations for diagnosis and other specialty evaluation/referrals are staffed with the Clinical Consultant.
