Fire Support Element
The Fire Support Element assesses the fire support feasibility of each COA. For each COA, the chief of fires develops the fire support execution matrix and evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of the fire support. This officer develops a proposed high-priority target list, target selection standards, and attack guidance matrix. The chief of fires identifies named and target areas of interest, highvalue targets, high-priority targets, and additional events that may influence the positioning of fire support assets.
