Additional Training Resources & Information
Other Army, DOD and non-government training
The Army and DOD offer a variety of additional online and resident training resources for Army Civilians in a variety of areas. Other non-government training providers and educational institutions may also provide training that meets individual needs and mission requirements.
While many of these training programs, workshops and seminars may be free, others may have associated tuition and session fees. Individuals interested in applying for training, education programs, individual college/university classes, and workshops that would directly enhance individual skill sets, job capabilities and mission accomplishment may be able to request funding through their local command.
Most units have a Civilian training budget to ensure employees have the necessary training and education to meet mission requirements.
It is recommended that an employee talk with his or her supervisor about training needs and document training and career goals on an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Supervisors, or unit training coordinators, can assist employees with local command training request procedures.
Below is not an all-inclusive list of available training/information resources. There may be additional national, regional or local providers that meet individual and unit training requirements, as well as training sources specific to individual Army Civilian Career Programs.
Leadership/Resilience Assessment Tools
Multi-Source Assessment and Feedback (MSAF) Program
|
The Multi-Source Assessment and Feedback program (MSAF360)
is a web-based program that uses the ‘360’ assessment system, where a leader is
evaluated by peers, superiors and subordinates. The system carefully preserves
anonymity by stripping feedback of identifying information before producing the
Individual Feedback Report. The feedback increases self-awareness by identifying
gaps in perception and by providing specific information regarding a leader’s
strengths and developmental needs. |
Comprehensive Soldier Fitness
|
Comprehensive Soldier Fitness (CSF) is a long
term strategy that better prepares the Army community - including all
Soldiers, Family members, and the Department of the Army Civilian
workforce - to not only survive, but also thrive at a cognitive and
behavioral level in the face of protracted warfare and everyday
challenges of Army life that are common in the 21st Century. Though not
a requirement, Army Civilians are encouraged to also take the GAT to
access their personal dimensions of emotional, social, spiritual, and
family fitness. Developed by subject matter experts from the military
and civilian universities, the GAT is comprised of 105 questions and
takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
