The Maine Military Family Assistance Center is critical in providing support to geographically-dispersed military families who are unable to access services at a local base, installation, or fort. This holds especially true during long- and short-term deployments and mobilizations of a service member. The Maine MFAC serves military members and their families from all branches and statuses (active, TPU, retired, veteran). Military Family Assistance Center specialists are available 24/7 for assistance and resource referral for military families!
Our Six Essential Services:
1. Community Information & Referral: We can connect you with community resources that can help with your needs, as well as get you connected with your Family Readiness Group (FRG).
2. Financial Resources & Referral: We can help you understand your military pay/LES; help you apply for a Foundation Fund grant; or connect you with our Personal Financial Counselors.
3. ID cards & Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) Referral: Need a new ID card and not sure where to go? Give us a call for DEERS Rapids locations and ID Card stations.
4. Legal Resources & Referral: We can connect you with JAG or civilian resources for Powers of Attorney/Wills, Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR).
5. TRICARE Medical and Dental Resources & Referral: Including Medical and Dental Benefits, Medical and Dental applications, and locating providers.
6. Crisis Intervention & Referral: We can help you navigate situations of domestic abuse, child abuse/neglect, danger to self and/or others, or abuse/neglect of a vulnerable adult.
