Description: Provides services for government employees and military spouses for substance abuse related challenges. This program helps employees in identifying and resolving personal problems that may affect their job performance and well-being. The program also assists management in addressing productivity issues. Promotes installation work/life/wellness programs. Confidential assessments, problem identification, and short-term counseling/intervention. Referral for treatment and rehabilitation to appropriate community counseling/treatment resources. Follow-up services to aid an employee in achieving an effective readjustment to his or her job after treatment. Training and education for supervisors and employees about alcohol and drugs.

Description: The Risk Reduction Program is a tool to help Commanders reduce high-risk behavior in their Soldiers. Provides a prevention-focused approach when dealing with personal problems and promotes focused and coordinated actions on the part of installation agencies and the chain of command in battalions with high risk profiles.

Description: The program is a command program, composed of the soldier, the commander, the Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) staff, the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratories (FTDTL), the Medical Review Officer, and the Staff Judge Advocate. The program has three primary goals. First, to deter soldiers from abusing drugs (including illegal drugs and other illicit drugs). Second, as a tool for commanders to assess the security, military fitness, good order and discipline of their commands. Third, to serve as a basis to take appropriate action, adverse or other (including referral for treatment), with a soldier based on a positive test result.
