Description

The Floating Account Manager is responsible to assist Commercial Lines Business Unit with timely and quality handling of new business, renewal business and customer service needs.                           

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret documents such as renewal applications, workers’ compensation mod sheets and procedures manuals.
  • Professionally communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge with minimal guidance.
  • Assists in monitoring and meeting deadlines for designated accounts and reviews new and renewals with Producer, Unit Manager and/or Account Executive.
  • Gathers and prepares submission information as appropriate to the account and coordinates the marketing process.
  • Prepares proposals from information provided by Producer, marketer and quotes adhering to set deadlines.
  • Binds coverage per agency binding guidelines for authority and prepares surplus lines documents as necessary to the account.
  • Checks policies for accuracy against applications, proposals and binding instructions. Requests necessary corrections and follows through to successful completion.
  • Promptly and accurately responds to client requests and oversees and/or prepares necessary documents.
  • Conduct on-line rating and use of insurance analysis tools.
  • Consistently strives to make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction.
  • Assists production unit in special projects related to sales and/or servicing.
  • Provide administrative support including photocopying, faxing, scanning for email and filing.
  • Ensures confidentially of information acquired.
  • Responds to client on all facets of customer service including coverage review, analysis and recommendations, quoting and securing coverage, and claims assistance with minimal guidance.
  • Adherence to all aspects of the agency’s guidelines and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree; some college or higher education preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in underwriting, rating and billing or prior insurance experience at an agency or related company.
  • 1-2 years’ experience providing customer service to commercial lines customers.
  • PC operation to an intermediate level, including word processing and data entry, standard software programs utilized: Microsoft Office Suite and industry specific software experience preferred.
  • MO or IL Producer’s license required.
  • AAI, CIC, CISR, or CRIS designation preferred.
  • Three to six months on-the-job training.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The employee regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
