Maine National Guard Child and Youth Services LogoThe National Guard child and youth program is one of the most supportive networks offered by the Military. It addresses the needs of our Military youth by offering safe activities, a place to meet, talk and have fun with other children who understand the unique issues that face military kids today. The program is led by experienced and trained adults who have a direct link with the Military family program.

Mission

To support the social, emotional, and academic needs of Maine National Guard children and youth.

The Child and Youth Program Offers Military Kids Unique Opportunities!

The Opportunity to Learn! Age appropriate programs help guard kids learn new skills, build self-esteem, positive attitudes and good character.
The Opportunity to Camp! Maine hosts a summer program for 9-12 year olds and 13-17 year olds.  Guard youth learn drill and ceremony, citizenship, challenge themselves in the outdoors and make long lasting friendships with other guard youth.
The Opportunity to Network! Youth across Maine and throughout the USA communicate via email and social media.
The Opportunity to Serve! Youth service projects may include helping families at the unit level or assisting with FRG and unit activities as well as outreach programs in the community such as partnerships with local veteran homes or read-a-louds for the Youth Program at local schools.
The Opportunity to Shine! Guard youth excel, contribute, and continue the traditions of the National Guard!
