Indiana National Guard Armory Rental Incident

Author: Indiana Guardsman/Monday, September 12, 2016/Categories: Press Release

The Indiana National Guard is aware of a disturbance at its armory in Terre Haute at approximately 12:08 a.m., Sept. 11, 2016, while under a rental agreement. At this time, there are no indications of any serious injuries to Indiana National Guard personnel, attendees or members of the community.

We are diligently working with the Terre Haute Police Department to determine the events that took place during this rental so that we can ensure this sort of event does not occur again. Local law enforcement is the lead in this investigation, and we will defer all questions regarding the details of this event to them at this time.

The Indiana National Guard routinely rents its armories to individuals and groups within the community to build relationships with all of those who reside there.

Rental agreements are required for these events and strict adherence to all local and state covenants and laws apply. Violations of these agreements result in the individual or group being banned from renting any Indiana National Guard facility again.

The Indiana National Guard is a community-based organization and values the people who are an integral part of their communities. Without their support, we cannot meet the challenges of our mission to our neighbors, state and nation.
